How much does Upwork profile optimization cost?
It is priced per profile rather than as a retainer, because it is a defined piece of work with an end point. Scope depends on how much portfolio and history there is to work through, so pricing comes out of a short call rather than a published rate.
What happened to Specialized Profiles on Upwork?
Upwork retired them on 28 May 2026. Titles and overviews from those profiles did not transfer to your primary profile automatically, though portfolio items did. If you built Specialized Profiles, some of that copy may simply have vanished from what clients see. That is one of the first things we check.
Will profile optimization get me the Top Rated or Rising Talent badge?
No, and anyone promising that is misleading you. Badges are awarded by Upwork against its own criteria, including Job Success Score and account activity. A stronger profile helps you win the contracts that build toward them, but the badge itself is Upwork’s decision, not ours.
Does a better profile actually change my Job Success Score?
Not directly. JSS reflects contract outcomes, not profile quality. The indirect effect is real though: a clear profile attracts better-matched clients, and better-matched clients produce the outcomes that protect your score.
How long does it take?
Most profiles take a few days once we have your background, portfolio files and an idea of the work you want more of. The bottleneck is usually you approving copy, not us writing it.
Do you rewrite everything or just fix what is broken?
Whatever the profile needs. Some are close and need tighter positioning; some have been accumulating unrelated skills and projects for years and need a proper cut. We tell you which before starting.
Can you optimise an agency profile as well as a freelancer profile?
Yes. Agency profiles have different mechanics, team presentation, service framing and how work history displays, so the approach differs, but the principle is the same.
Do I need this if you are already running my bidding?
Not necessarily, but they compound. Proposals send clients to your profile, so a weak profile undercuts good bidding. If you are doing both, the profile work usually goes first.
